LANsurveyor now supports sending SMS alert messages using an attached phone.
The attached phone must be capable of sending SMS messages as a modem through a COM port on the computer running LANsurveyor. Many cellular phones can receive SMS messages, but very few phones are capable of sending SMS messages as a modem when attached to a computer.
Neon Software has certified the Sony Ericsson T637 phone for use with LANsurveyor.
Other phones may work but Neon Software has not had an opportunity to test other models with SMS modem capabilities.
