LANsurveyor allows you to automate software and hardware inventory reports to save time and money, ensure licensing compliance, and plan effectively for system upgrades and modifications.

In order to access asset management data, Responders must be installed. Refer to Install Neon Responders for installation instructions or visit the LANsurveyor Responder web page for more information on Responders.

LANsurveyor includes one standard report for hardware asset management and two standard reports for software asset management: Software Meter and Software Inventory. The Software Meter Report creates a list of running applications and processes. The Software Inventory Report creates a list of applications, Control Panels, DLLs/Extensions, Fonts or Startup Items and their versions. Use these reports to measure software license compliance or determine software upgrade needs.

The Hardware Inventory report includes OS, networking, and system information, including CPU type, number of CPUs, RAM, and PCI cards installed.

To create customized hardware and software asset management reports, use the Custom Reports tutorial.

Step 1 of 4: Draw a Map
