  • Authentication

LANsurveyor attempts to authenticate any new node discovered by Continuous Scan.

If the new node has a Neon Responder with the correct password, "Neon Responder" is displayed for Authentication. If the new node has SNMP enabled with a community string stored with the LANsurveyor map, "SNMP Community String" is displayed. If the node is not authenticated, "None" is displayed.

Continuous Scan is also integrated with a variety of third party solutions for vulnerability assessment, including Symantec's NetRecon, Qualys' QualysGuard, and Microsoft's Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA).

LANsurveyor can then disable network access for a node or send a customized alert based on whether or not the node is authenticated.

"LANsurveyor is THE best piece of network admin software I've ever used."
