Disable Network Access
Automatically disable the network access for unauthorized, unauthenticated, or unsafe
nodes when detected on the network.
If you are in a managed network environment, it's
easy to configure LANsurveyor and Continuous Scan to prevent access to the network or send
a customized alert based on whether or not
the node is authenticated. For example: if a node is authenticated, you
could send a simple email to the administrator; if the node is not
authenticated, you could disable network access, send an email to a group of people, send an
SNMP trap, and use netsend to send an immediate message to another
computer.
If you later determine the node is not a threat, view the Threat List, click
on the node, and
click on the Enable button to allow the node access to your network. Or simply
re-enable the interface from the LANsurveyor map.
Enable and Disable network access features require connection to a managed switch port.
