Diagram Your Network
LANsurveyor automatically maps your entire IP-based LAN or WAN, including desktops, servers, printers, hubs, switches, and routers.
LANsurveyor scans a given IP address range using a number of different discovery methods: ICMP/ping, SNMP, SIP (VoIP), NetBIOS, and more. (View a screenshot of the "Create New Network Map" dialog box.)
LANsurveyor then uses that information to generate a comprehensive network map. LANsurveyor is the only product in its class that can integrate ISO Layer 2 and Layer 3 information to automatically map nodes to switch or hub ports.
Once network nodes are discovered, LANsurveyor compiles
the information into a cohesive, easy to view network map
with lines representing network connectivity and each node
represented with an icon.
LANsurveyor maps can be printed, exported to Microsoft Visio, or saved in Enhanced Metafile (EMF) format for further editing in other drawing programs.
Once you know how your network is actually designed,
it becomes a lot easier to meet regulatory requirements (such as HIPAA and SOX/Sarbanes-Oxley), troubleshoot, solve
network problems, and plan for future
implementations or disaster continuity.
