Receive alerts before network users begin complaining.
Multiple Named Alerts
Create as many alerts as you need, each with different options. Set alerts for different groups of people for different events (e.g., http stops responding vs. a router going down).
You can use a number of alert methods:
- Email
- net send
- Launch app/file
- Send SNMP Trap
- Play sound file
- Log message to syslog server
- Send SMS message
Send SMS message requires a phone capable of sending SMS messages as a modem through a COM port on the computer running LANsurveyor. For more information on capable phones, visit http://www.neon.com/SMS.html.
Alert Limits
You can configure alerts to only function within certain timeframes. This feature lets you monitor conditions within specific hours (e.g., only notify if a system is unavailable during the work day) and allows you to have different alerts for nights and weekends all based on the same problem.
