LANsurveyor 10.0 New Features
LANsurveyor 10.0 unlocks the key to autodiscovery as the only network management product to utilize multiple types of discovery to create a true and accurate network map.
Autodiscovery is the basis of intelligent systems and the key to LANsurveyor. Other products may use one discovery method such as ICMP or ping sweeps, but LANsurveyor uses multiple methods, including the new Active Directory domain controllers, SNMP, ICMP and more. LANsurveyor 10.0 is the first product to automate discovery, gathering and storing critical systems in a CMDB (configuration management database). New algorithms create and display network diagrams faster than competitors.
Highlights of the 10.0 release include:
- Discovery, mapping and reporting of Active Directory Domain Controllers
- CMDB enhancements:
- Storing of SNMP configuration data into
the repository
- Ability to have user-defined groups of
nodes on the map
- Visio enhancements, including Smart
Shape support and AutoSave
- Enhanced discovery:
- Discovery using SNMPv2c and
SNMPv3 and SNMPv1
- Advanced Spanning Tree discovery and
analysis
- Redesigned user interface:
- New autodiscovery dialog
- Customized field display on map
- Other top features:
- Map AutoSave feature for Visio-format
when using Continuous Scan IDS
- Enhanced software inventory report
to include list of nodes with software
installed
