Network Documentation
A complete network diagram is critical for understanding a network and meeting network documentation requirements. Good network diagrams use a variety of methods to automatically discover networked systems and provide the ability to publish the diagram in a native format, as well as popular drawing tools like Microsoft® Office Visio®.
A good network map also identifies different classes of network hardware, including routers, switches, and other end nodes.
LANsurveyor generates network maps using several different methods (including ICMP/ping, NetBIOS, SNMP, and SIP) and generates Visio-formatted files.
